OBITUARY: Jo Ann Miner Stevens, Worth County, Iowa Jo Ann Elaine Miner Stevens 1935-2001 [Northwood Anchor Newspaper online - www.northwoodanchor.com - October 09, 2001] Jo Ann Miner Stevens dies in Colorado Jo Ann Elaine Miner Stevens of Longmont, CO, died Monday, Oct. 1, 2001 at Longmont United Hospital. She was 65. Funeral Services were Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lafayette. She was born Nov. 7, 1935 in Clear Lake, IA to Parie Vernon and Gladys (Huntley) Miner. Jo Ann was a 1956 graduate of St. Mary's School of Nursing in Rochester, MN as a registered nurse. She married George Stevens in Northwood on Sept. 1, 1956. She was an obstetrical nurse and practiced in Cedar Rapids and Des Moines, IA. After moving from Des Moines to Longmont in 1967, she worked at Boulder Community Hospital in Boulder, CO and Longmont United Hospital in Longmont, retiring in 1989. Her hobbies included beading and she was an avid antiquer. She enjoyed hiking, camping and loved the mountains. Jo Ann was a member of St. Columba Orthodox Church in Lafayette, CO, and member and past president of Questers International, Saun Seearay Chapter, Columbine Pioneers. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband George Stevens of Longmont; a son, John W. M. Stevens and wife April of Fort Collins, CO; a daughter Lynne Marie Stevens Brandt and husband Richard of Highlands Ranch, CO, a sister, Arlene Bruns and husband George of Clear Lake, IA; three grandsons and two granddaughters.
