OBITUARY: Marie Noorlun, Worth County, Iowa


              Marie Noorlun [1896-1983]

MARIE NOORLUN (87) died in 1983 at the age of 87 years at the Lake Mills
Care Center.  The funeral was held at Salem Lutheran Church in Lake
Mills, with the Rev. DuWayne Dalen in charge.  The burial took place at
the Sion Cemetery.

Marie was born February 2, 1896 in Worth Co. to Ingebrit and Kjersti
(Winden) Tollefson.  She was baptized April 5, 1896 at the Bristol
Church by the Rev. Nels Boe and confirmed by the Rev. Tosdal.

She married Edwin Noorlun on November 21, 1914.  They farmed at Clearwater,
MN before moving back to her home farm east of Lake Mills.  She was a
member of Salem Lutheran Church.  She was survived by two daughters:
Mrs. Byron (Ileen) Hollenbach, Delta, Alaska and Mrs. Lew (Doris)
Hawley, Connifer, Colorado; three sons: Doren and Gaylord of Arizona
and Erwin of Golden, Colorado.

She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons, Ray and Russell and
her daughter, Mrs. Gene (Lillian) Greenspan, a brother and two sisters.
