OBITUARY: Miss Anne Nystuen, Worth County, Iowa


                          Miss Anne Nystuen

Miss Anne Nystuen (89) died October 17, 1947.  Her funeral was held at
Silver Lake, with Rev. G.B. Odegaard in charge.  She is survived by two
sisters, Mrs. Betsy Huus, Northwood; Mrs. Guri Bergan, Lake Mills; a
half sister, Mrs. Vetgjei Svein, Northfield, MN.  She was born at St.
Ansgar on September 12, 1858 to Mr. and Mrs. Thorsten Jonson Nystuen and
baptized on October 17th by Rev. C.L. Clausen.  She came with her
parents to Silver Lake at an early age and was confirmed in 1873 by Rev.
B.B. Gjeldaker.  In the spring of 1896 Miss Nystuen went to North Dakota
and spent 35 years farming near Manfred, then returned to Silver Lake in
the fall of 1932 and later to Northwood where she spent her last days.
