OBITUARY: Doris Irene (Nelson) Reyerson, Worth County, Iowa [Northwood Anchor -- July 24, 2001 -- www.northwoodanchor.com ] Doris Irene (Nelson) Reyerson [1914-2001] Services held for Doris Reyerson, 87 Doris I. Reyerson, 87, Northwood, died Wednesday, July 18, 2001, at the Manly Nursing and Rehab Center in Manly. Funeral services were Saturday at Silver Lake Lutheran Church, rural Northwood, with Rev. Steven Smith officiating. Burial was in the Silver Lake cemetery. Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, Northwood, was in charge of arrangements. Doris Irene Reyerson was born June 13, 1914. She was the 10th child born to Emil and Minnie (Peterson) Nelson in Freeman Township near Glenville, MN where she attended rural school. She lived near Glenville until her marriage to Lewis O. Reyerson on Sept. 3, 1937. They lived on the Reyerson home farm all their married life of 37 years. She helped her husband with the farm work until his death July 19, 1975. She continued to help with farm work until a stroke in 1993. She was a member of Silver Lake Lutheran Church and church women. Prior to her stroke she enjoyed dancing, golfing and bowling. She continued to enjoy lefse, cinnamon rolls, kolaches and pies. She also looked forward to visits from her sisters and brothers to play cards and have coffee. Survivors include her three children, Sharon and her husband Paul Helgeson of Northwood, Dennis Reyerson of Northwood and Marlene Reyerson of Mason City; six grandchildren, Michelle Perry and husband Rick, Susan Kliment and husband Darrin, Steve Helgeson and fiance Katie Cunningham, Jason Reyerson and wife Sarah, Diane Frank and husband Matt and David Reyerson; six great-grandchildren; sisters Lila Herth and Edna Halvorson, both of Northwood; brother Donnie Nelson and wife Bessie of Glenville, MN and sisters-in-law Alice Nelson of Grand Meadow, MN, Hazel Reyerson of Albert Lea, MN and many nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; five sisters; two brothers and one great-grandson. ************************************************************** Copyright (c) 2001 by Kermit Kittleson.
