OBITUARY: Halvor Rugland, Worth County, Iowa


Halvor Rugland (86) died March 31, 1948 at his home.  The funeral was
held at Sion Church, with Rev. C. Notsund in charge.

He was born on the home farm in Hartland Twp. on April 4, 1861 to Gubrand
G. Rugland and Sigrie Halvorson Rugland.  He was baptized and confirmed
by Rev. T.A. Torgerson.

He married Anna Johnson on October 29,1891 by Rev. T.A. Torgerson.  They
were parents of six children:  Gilbert, John, Sena, Elvin, Henry and Alfred.

Mr. and Mrs. Rugland celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary October 26,
1941 at Somber Church.

He is survived by his wife and all his children, except Alvin who died
February 22, 1944.  He is survived by a sist er, Mrs. Ambjor Brua, Fargo,
ND and a grandson, Archie Rugland.
