OBITUARY: Trulie Rosalyn Seuser Sime, Worth County, Iowa [ Northwood Anchor Online 1/2/2002 - www.northwoodanchor.com] Rites held for Trulie Sime Funeral services for Trulie Rosalyn Seuser Sime, 95, were held on Thursday, Dec. 27, 2001 at Silver Lake Lutheran Church, rural Northwood, IA, with Pastor Steve Smith officiating. Burial was held in Silver Lake Lutheran Cemetery. Trulie died on Sunday, Dec. 23, 2001 at St. John's Lutheran Home, Albert Lea, MN. Trulie was born on Oct. 7, 1906 on a farm near Gordonsville, MN. Her parents were Mary and Charles Seuser. She was the youngest of ten children. Two died before she was born. Her seven brothers and sisters whom she loved, all lived nearby all her life and since are deceased. They were Gay, Jess, Nettie, Rea, Charles, Alice and Zelma. Trulie's father contracted Typhoid fever when it rages in the Midwest. He died in his forties. Trulie was only 2 years old at the time of her father's death. She liked horseback riding and was a good rider. She loved poetry and could repeat long poems even late in life. She attended Glenville High School. When she was out of school, she worked for a family and later met Elmer Sime, whom she married. Elmer was a good farmer and together they farmed and raised four children. Two children, Vivan and Virgil, passed away at birth. Her four loving children are Warren, John, Nadine and Tom. She was active in the Silver Lake ladies aid and was president in 1958. Trulie canned fruits and vegetables every summer and baked large cakes for each birthday. She was a wonderful cook. While here children were attending college, she worked at the Hotel Albert and the Holiday Inn as a salad lady. She lived her last seven years with her son Tom and his wife Betty. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer, a daughter-in-law Janice (Boyken) Sime and a grandson, Warren "Wes" Sime II. She was a grandmother of 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
