OBITUARY: Gertie Sanvik Simmons, Worth County, Iowa




                           Gertie Simmons

Gertie Simmons (89) was born in Norway March 13, 1881 to Ludvig and
Ingeborg Sanvik.  She came to America with her parents when she was 18
months of age to Worth Co.   She is the last surviving member of a
family of nine children.  Her mother died in 1927 and her father in
1941.  She had three brothers, Elling, Hans and George Sanvik and five
sisters, Anna Everson, Julia Dahl, Louise Neste, Gena Ausen and an
infant, Louise.  She is survived only by nieces and nephews.  The
funeral was held at Salem with Rev. I.B. Sorensen in charge and burial
in Silver Lake cemetery.  (Graphic 5-6-1970)
