OBITUARY: Gjertrude Simmons, Worth County, Iowa Gjertrude Simmons Mrs. Gjertrude Simmons died October 8, 1910 at the home of her son, N.J. Simmons in Silver Lake Twp. where she had made her home since the death of her husband six years ago. She was one of the pioneer settlers of Silver Lake, having settled on an old homestead farm 35 years ago. The funeral was held at Silver Lake. Among the relatives were John Simmons, treasurer of Worth Co., N.J. Simmons who occupied the homestead farm and Mrs. O.T. Groe of Lake Mills.
