OBITUARY: Gilman Sorgo, Worth County, Iowa Gilman Sorgo Gilman Sorgo (84) Northwood, died February 15, 1994 at the North Iowa Mercy Health Center, East Campus, Mason City. The funeral was held at Silver Lake Lutheran Church, with Rev. Allan Stoa officiating. Burial was made in the Silver Lake cemetery. Gilman was born in Worth Co. on September 23, 1909 to Nels and Emma (Ferley) Sorbo. He was baptized by Rev. A.L. Huus and confirmed by Rev. Hans Fosnes on June 3, 1923. He was married to Mildred Willand on June 30, 1934. He was a lifelong member of Silver Lake Lutheran Church, where he had held several offices. He had served as a sexton for 40 years. He spent his entire life on the farm. He served as chairman of the election board for many years and held various other offices. He is survived by his wife Mildred, Northwood; one daughter, Marcia and her husband, Norm Klapperich, Meyer; three grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy and husband Earl Towne, Emmons; sister-in-law Nina Sorbo, Estherville; and brother-in-law Malmin Anderson, Lake Mills.
