OBITUARY: John Winden, Worth County, Iowa John Winden [1864-1948] JOHN WINDEN (84) died January 8, 1948 at his home after being ill two months. His funeral was held at Sion Church, with the Rev. C. Notsund officiating and burial in the Bristol Church cemetery. He was born January 3, 1864 in Mitchell Co. to Andrew and Inger Winden. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. He came to Worth Co. with his parents when he was four years of age. He lived all his life in Worth Co., except five years on a farm near Rice Lake. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Knut Bergo, Lake Mills and Mrs. Seymour Ellingson, Hanlontown; three sons, Adolph, Martin and Simon, Lake Mills; 14 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
