OBITUARY: Kathryn Carr, Worth County, Iowa Kathryn Carr Kathryn Carr, 77, died July 28, 1969 at a Mason City, Iowa hospital. She had been born October 14, 189l at Bristol, Iowa to Michael and Mary (Jordan) Carr. She graduated from the Lake Mills High School and the State Teachers College at Cedar Falls, Iowa. She also studied music at McPhail's in Minneapolis, MN. She taught in rural schools in South Dakota and Iowa before beginning to teach school in Mason City in 1924. She retired from teaching in 1957, but continued working at the YWCA in Mason City in her retirement. Her funeral was held at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Mason City, conducted by the Rev. Paul C. McManus. She was buried at St. Patrick's Catholic cemetery, east of Lake Mills. She was preceded in death by two sisters and five brothers.
