OBITUARY: Anna Flattum, Worth County, Iowa [Northwood Graphic 3-26-1958] Anna Flattum Mrs. Anna Flattum (50) died Tuesday at Naeve Hospital, Albert Lea, MN. She had been in ill health for several months. Her funeral was held at the Silver Lake Church, with the Rev. B.E. Nyjordet officiating. She was born February 22, 1908 near Fertile to Ole J. and Sophia Anderson, one of seven children. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and attended rural schools until 1918 when the family moved to Lake Mills where she finished school and attended high school. She was confirmed at Salem Lutheran Church in September of 1920 by the Rev. O.R. Sletten. She married Alvin Flattum on March 9, 1927 at Forest City. They lived on a farm in Silver Lake Twp.and were parents of six children: Orville and Carl at home; Mrs. Harold (Josephine) Sherwood, Huntsville, Alabama; twins, George, at home and Mrs. Ralph (Gladys) Saben, New Richland, MN and Arthur, at home. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two sisters, Annie Marie and Selma and a brother, Harold. She is also survived by a brother, John Anderson, Mason City and two sisters, Mrs. George (Clara) Greenwood, Minneapolis and Mrs. Mike (Hazel) Sofules, Albert Lea; and three sisters-in-law, Gertrude Flattum, who cared for her in the last months of her illness; Mrs. Ed (Louise) Zuelke, Emmons and Mrs. Henry (Inga) Dahl, Albert Lea.
