OBITUARY: Doris E. Foss 1930-2002, Worth County, Iowa Doris E. Foss [Northwood Anchor online - www.northwoodanchor.com - Posted October 1, 2002] Doris E. Foss, 72, died on Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2002 at the Lutheran Retirement Home, Northwood. Funeral services were Saturday at the Elk Creek Lutheran Church, rural Kensett, with Rev. Selmer Hernes officiating. Burial was in the Elk Creek Cemetery. Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, Northwood, was in charge of arrangements. Doris was born on Sept. 3, 1930 in Cerro Gordo County, east of Mason City, to Harold and Hazel (Terpeney) Jenkins. She graduated from Nora Springs High School and Hamilton Business College. Doris married Adrian Foss on Jan. 1, 1956 in Mason City. They lived on the same farm in Worth County their entire married life. Doris was preceded in death by her parents; husband Adrian in 2001; sister Betty Jenkins and son-in-law, Ron Cooper. She is survived by three daughters, Ada Asklund of Marshalltown, Eva Stratton and her husband Wayne of Davenport, IA, Gloria Cooper of Hanlontown; granddaughter, Bobbi Logeman who was raised like a daughter, grandchildren Matt and Joshua Asplund of Marshalltown, Ronnie and Kristen Cooper of Hanlontown; step-grandchild Alex Stratton of Davenport; brother Lynn Jenkins and his wife Arlene of Yerington, NV.
