OBITUARY: Mary Gilchrist c1838-1915, Worth County, Iowa Mary Gilchrist Mrs. Mary Gilchrist, age 77 years, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Patrick Mahar, northeast of Lake Mills on Tuesday, December 28, 1915, the direct cause of her illness being diabetes. Mrs. Gilchrist had been a widow for a number of years. In the early day Mr. and Mrs. Gilchrist settled on a farm one mile east of Leland and this was her home until recently when her health became such that she went to stay with her daughter. The deceased was a devout member of the Catholic church. Father Torpey said high mass at St. Patrick's church, December 31st and interment was made in the Bristol Cemetery (St. Patrick's Cemetery).
