OBITUARY: Pearl Sime Groe, 1894-1960, Worth County, Iowa Pearl Sime Groe Mrs. Elmer Groe. Pearl Groe (66) died on the Groe farm, east of Lake Mills on November 21, 1960. She had gone there with her son, Arlen, to do some work when she suffered a fatal heart attack. Mr. and Mrs. Groe and Arlen had moved to Albert Lea to spend the winter months. She was baptized and confirmed at Silver Lake, having been born Pearl Sime Groe on April 28, 1894 on a farm in Worth Co., where she had lived all her life, except the five winters the family had spent in Albert Lea. Her parents were Mr. and Mrs. John Sime. She is survived by her husband, Elmer Groe; two daughters, Mrs. Leonard (Evelyn) Fjelstad, Lake Mills and Mrs. Melbourne (Carmen) Butler, Northwood; seven sons, Burnell, Elton and Donald Groe, Albert Lea; Duane Groe, Glenville, MN; Gerald Groe, Austin, MN; Eugene Groe, Iowa City and Arlen, at home. A son, Orin, died in infancy. She is survived byee sisters, Mrs. Clifford Nelson, Northwood; Mrs. Rudolph Nystuen, Lake Mills and Mrs.Arnold Tue, Albert Lea; three brothers, John, Gilmer and Arnold Sime, Northwood.
