OBITUARY: Melvin Gudvangen 1907-1964, Worth County, Iowa Melvin Gudvangen Melvin Gudvangen, 57, Silver Lake farmer, died unexpectedly on December 12, 1964 of a heart attack, at the home of a neighbor, Clarence Sime, while assisting him with some work. He was born in Kiester, MN on April 28, 1907, to Eric and Emma Gudvangen. He married Mabel Dahlen at Silver Lake Church in 1933 by the Rev. Fosness. They had built a new home last summer. He was a member of the Silver Lake Church. He had been an assistant at the Clark's Grove Creamery before operating the Silver Lake Creamery as buttermaker for 33 years, until he retired last fall. He is survived by his wife, Mabel; one brother, Earl, Kiester, MN; four sisters, Mrs. Clara Walker, Faribault, MN; Mrs. Sarah Johnson, Brookings, SD; Mrs. Alfred H. (Elma) Petersburg, Claremont, MN and Gladys Gudvangen, Denver, Colorado. The funeral was held at Silver Lake, with the Rev. Norris Hanson officiating.
