OBITUARY: Mrs. Stenor Holstad, 1836-1927, Worth County, Iowa
        

                          Mrs. Stenor Holstad

Mrs. Stenor Holstad (90) died a the home of her son, John Holstad in Silver
Lake Twp. (1927)  She was born November 17, 1836 at Vik in Sogn, Norway.
She was baptized and confirmed in the church at Vik.  She married Thor
Holstad in 1868.  They had six children, two boys and four girls.  Three
were born in Norway.

She came to America in 1875.  After two years here, the family bought a
farm in Silver Lake Twp. where they have lived ever since.  Her husband
died March 2l, 1920.

Surviving are three children, John on the home farm; Julius, Lake Mills
and Lena, Kansas City; one half-sister at Hartland, MN; 10 grandchildren
and 7 great-grandchildren.
