OBITUARY: Andrew Horvei, 1842-1911, Worth County, Iowa



                             Andrew Horvei

Andrew Horvei died at his home in Silver Lake Twp. in Worth Co., Iowa on
August 16, 1911.

He was born in Voss, Norway in 1842.  When 22 years of age, he came to
America and took up a homestead where he has lived after having lived
one year in Minnesota. He married Anna Olson and they have lived 46 years
in Worth Co.  "His dream of prosperity came, but the grim reaper claimed
him just as he was entering into what is generally considered the age
of retirement."  Nine children were born to the couple, with seven
surving.

He is survived by his wife; children, Mrs. O. Furness, Mason City;
J. A. Horvei, Fergus Falls, MN; Mrs. B.N. Troe, Silver Lake; Oscar, Mason
City; Mrs. Henry Moe, Lake Mills; Lewis H., Silver Lake. and ?

He was preceded in death by Mrs. John Nordal, Monengo, ND who died three
years ago and Albert Horvei who died in infancy.  The funeral was held
at Silver Lake with the Rev. L.W. Boe officiating, assisted by the Rev.
N.C. Brun.
