OBITUARY: Steven P. McArthur, Worth County, Iowa [Northwood Anchor online - www.northwoodanchor.com - Posted May 14, 2002] Steven P. McArthur Steven P. McArthur, 53, of Kensett, formerly Mason City, died Thursday, May 9, 2002, at the St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN. Funeral service was Monday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Manly, with Rev. David Kucera officiating. Burial was in the Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City. Steven P. McArthur was born on Nov. 28, 1948, in Mason City, the son of Dan and Marcia (Pacey) McArthur. He attended and received his education in the Mason City public schools, graduating from Mason City High School. Steven also attended a college in Milwaukee, WI, and N.I.A.C.C. in Mason City, receiving his certificate in Mechanical Drafting. Steven worked on his parents farm for many years in rural Mason City, feeding livestock, and raising register Herefords, which he enjoyed showing at county and state fairs. He married Deb (Brennan) Aves on April 5, 1997, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Manly. In the last five years Steven worked for Winnebago Industries in Forest City as a framer. He enjoyed being involved in 4-H, boating, water skiing, fishing, hunting elk, fox, and pheasants, and also enjoyed flying single engine aircraft with his father. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Deb McArthur of Kensett; a step- daughter, Lisa Aves of Mason City; a brother, William (Bill) McArthur and his wife Liz of Gainesville, FL; nephews, Sean and Troy McArthur of FL; a father-in-law, Willis Brennan and special friend Dixie Stromley of Manly; his mother-in-law, Joan Brennan of Clear Lake; a sister-in-law, Pam Brennan and friend John Dusheck of Mason City; a nephew, Sean McGowan of Mason City; a brother-in-law, Jeff Brennan and his wife Joellen of Bozeman, MT; a niece, Elizabeth Brennan of Bozeman, MT; nephews, Stephen, Kale, and Cameron Brennan also of Bozeman, MT; aunts, Carol Blakestad of St. Ansgar, Nora Pacey of Northwood, and Carol Pacey of Florida; an uncle, Jim Pacey also of Florida; as well as many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, a twin brother, Charles; grandparents; aunt, Gail Gaffney, and two uncles, Jim Pacey, and Norman Blakestad.
