OBITUARY: Melford Perkins, 1912-1990, Worth County, Iowa Melford Perkins Melford Perkins (78) rural Northwood, died 9-19-1990 at his home from injuries he received in a farm accident. Funeral at Silver Lake, with Rev. Allan Stoa officiating and burial in church cemetery. He was born June 6, 1912 in rural Northwood,Worth Co., Iowa to Arthur and Julia (Breiseth) Perkins. He attended Northwood rural schools. He had lived on the same farm all his life that his parents had lived on. He married Lillian Bakken on June 6, l939 at the Silver Lake Lutheran Church parsonage. He was a farmer, gardener and loved working around his farm home. He was a member of Silver Lake Church and an usher there, former church council member, former school board member. Survived by his wife; one son, Terry and wife Carol Perkins, Clarks Grove, MN; a daughter, Mrs. Gary (Jane) Gilbert and son-in-law Gary, Houston, TX and three granddaughters.
