OBITUARY: Roland T. "Pete" Zimmerman 1916-1997, Worth County, Iowa Roland T. "Pete" Zimmerman #1 [ Mason City Globe Gazette; April 6, 1997 ] NORTHWOOD -- Roland T. "Pete" Zimmerman, 80, of Northwood, died Saturday (April 5, 1997) at the Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City. #2 [ Mason City Globe Gazette; April 7, 1997 ] NORTHWOOD -- Roland T. "Pete" Zimmerman, 80, died Saturday (April 5, 1997) at Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Lutheran Church with the Rev. Mark Bents officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Albert Lea, Minn. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Conner Colonial Chapel, 99-11th St. South, and one hour prior to service time at the church on Tuesday. The family of Roland T. "Pete" Zimmerman has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City, in his memory. Roland T. "Pete" Zimmerman was born on July 29, 1916, in Easton, Minn., the son of Thornton and Mabel Zimmerman. He attended and received his education in the Wells, Minn. school system. He was united in marriage to Faith Asher on Dec. 21, 1954, in Mason City. For 25 years he was the owner and operator of "Pete's Tap" in Albert Lea, until moving to Northwood in 1971, and was the owner and operator of the Circus Tap and the Machine Shed Arcadia in Northwood, and was also employed with B & K Lumber Company in Northwood for several years until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking and having coffee with his friends at the Corner Post Restaurant in Northwood. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Northwood and a former member of the Eagles Club in Albert Lea. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Faith Zimmerman, of Northwood; daughter, Amy Campbell of Northwood; son, Scott Zimmerman and his wife, Lynne, of St. Louis, Mo.; granddaughter Maegan Zimmerman and her mother, Doreen, of Northwood; and grandson, Thomas Carmody of Northwood; as well as several nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Kenneth Zimmerman; and two nephews, Bruce Zimmerman and Clay Cameron.
