Pixley, 90, of Northwood, died Saturday, June 21, 2003, at the Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City. Memorial services were Tuesday at the First Lutheran Church, Northwood, with Rev. Allan J. Stoa officiating. Inurnment was in the Sunset Rest Cemetery in Northwood. According to her wishes her body was cremated. Conner Colonial Chapel, Northwood, was in charge of the arrangements. Cora B. Pixley was born on Oct. 17, 1912, in Worth County near Northwood, the daughter of Ole and Marie Bergo. She was baptized on Nov. 24, 1912, and reaffirmed the faith of her baptism through confirmation on May 15, 1927. She attended and graduated from Northwood High School. After completing her schooling she worked for the Worth County Co-op Oil Company and for the ASC office in Northwood as a program clerk for several years until her retirement. She married Clayton Pixley on Sept. 2, 1935. He preceded her in death on Dec. 25, 1969. She enjoyed crocheting, making afghans, and flowers. She was a member of First Lutheran Church and the church circle in Northwood. She is survived by a sister-in-law, Lois Bergo of Northwood; a brother-in- law, Claus Pixley of Long Beach, CA; special friends, Kenneth Roppe of Northwood, Bonnie Roppe and Sherrie Winter of Rochester, MN, and Karen Emanuel of Lyle, MN; as well as other friends. Her parents, husband, a brother, Palmer Bergo, and two sisters, Oline Bergo, and Gladys Hillestad preceded her in death.
