OBITUARY: Blanche Luella (Brunsvold) Anderson, 1908-2003, Worth Co., Iowa [Northwood Anchor online - August 6, 2003] Blanche Luella Anderson Blanche Luella Anderson, 95, of Kensett, died Tuesday, July 29, 2003, at the Lutheran Retirement Home in Northwood. Funeral services were Friday at the Elk Creek Lutheran Church, rural Kensett, with Rev. Selmer G. "Sam" Hernes officiating. Burial was in the Elk Creek Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural Kensett. Conner Colonial Chapel, Northwood, was in charge of arrangements. Blanche Luella Anderson was born on Feb. 17, 1908, in rural Hanlontown in Worth County, IA, the daughter of George and Emma (Lee) Brunsvold. She was baptized at Concordia Lutheran Church, rural Joice, and reaffirmed the faith of her baptism through confirmation at the Somber Lutheran Church, rural Lake Mills. Blanche attended the rural Brunsvold School in Fertile Township #1, and graduated from Hanlontown High School. After completing her schooling she worked for W.A. Crosby Drug Store in Hanlontown. She married Morris Anderson on Feb. 19, 1942 at the Lutheran parsonage in Northwood. He preceded her in death on July 6, 1987. After their marriage together they farmed on the Anderson farm for many years in rural Kensett. She enjoyed embroidering, tatting, baking and cooking. She was a very active member of the Elk Creek Lutheran Church, rural Kensett. Left to cherish her memory is a sister, Alice Charlson of Hanlontown, a brother, Arnold Brunsvold and his wife Evelyn of Albert Lea, MN; sisters-in-law, Margaret Sigmond, Amey Johnson, Marcella Anderson, and Margaret Brunsvold all of Northwood; many nieces and nephews as well as other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Morris; two brothers, Leon and Earl Brunsvold; and a sister, Myrtle Flugum.
