OBITUARY: Mrs. Tom (Clara Marie Lah) Flaten 1872-1954



                             Clara Flaten

Mrs. Tom (Clara Marie) Flaten (82) from Albert Lea, MN died July 24, 1954
at the Connor-Cornick Nursing Home.  She had been a life-long resident of
Freeborn Co. and had been at the nursing home the past five weeks.

She was born March 25, 1872 in Nunda Twp. to Mr. and Mrs. Jens Lorenson Lah.

She married Tom Flaten on June 5, 1891 at Silver Lake Church where she was a
life-long member.  Her husband died February 9, 1933.

She is survived by a son, two daughters, 8 grandchildren and 10 great-
grandchildren.  The son is Norrance Flaten and the daughters are:  Mrs.
Nels (Esther) Sorbo and Mrs. Oliver (Marie) Sorbo, Albert Lea.

She was preceded in death by two sons, James and Norrance.

She is also survived by two brothers and two sisters, Mrs. Ole Sorenson,
Lake Mills; Jens Sorenson, Albert Lea, MN;  Mrs. George Rasmusson, Emmons
and Betty Hanson, Albert Lea, MN.  The funeral was held at Silver Lake
Church, with the Rev. J.M. Haaland officiating.
