OBITUARY: Paul Aaron "Mike" Hanson, 1944-2003, Worth County, Iowa [ Northwood Anchor online - May 14, 2003 - www.northwoodanchor.com ] Mike Hanson Memorial services for Mike Hanson, 57, of Northwood, were held Friday at the Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home, Albert Lea. The Rev. Don Rose officiated. Interment was in Graceland Cemetery. Mike died Monday, May 5, 2003, at Muse-Norris Hospice Unit in Mason City. Paul Aaron "Mike" Hanson was born June 5, 1944, to Victor G. and Mary H. (Head) Hanson in Albert Lea. He attended schools in Albert Lea and graduated from Albert Lea High School. Mike was a boxer with the Golden Gloves. He was a member of the Moose Club. Mike moved to Beaumont, TX, and established Double H Trucking, a brokerage company. He also started the Vidor Boxing Club for kids in Vidor, TX, and coached the young boxers. In 1991, Mike moved back to Iowa to be closer to his family. He was employed as an over-the-road truck driver for Van Wyk Truck Lines in Sheldon, IA. On Jan. 4, 2002 Mike married Connie Lee Hill in Mason City. He became disabled in January 2003. Mike loved hunting and fishing, nature and animals, especially his cats Smoky and Bandit. He was great at woodworking, collected guns, and enjoyed watching stock car racing and football. Survivors include his wife Connie Hanson of Northwood; daughter, Sandy Farnes and her son Troy of New Richland; daughter, Terri Hanson and her daughter, Deserae Anderson and granddaughter, Jazmine Lindquist of Cosmos; daughter Angie Paczkowski and her son, Zackery and daughter, Cassie, Reno, NV; step-son, Kevin Brady and wife Kay and daughter, Kallie of Dublin, GA; step-daughter, Cathy Couey and son, Taylor Outlaw, also of Dublin; brothers, George Hanson of Santa Clara, CA, Larry Hanson of Austin and Eddie and wife Betty Hanson of Albert Lea; sisters, Ellen and husband Gary Alkire of San Antonio, TX, MaryBeth and husband Larry Nelson of Glenville and Barb and husband Dick Kath of Manchester; brother-in-law, Austin Wimber-ley of Cadwell, GA and special friends, Steve and Heather Hinz and Jim Volinkaty. He was preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Mary Hanson; sister, Kay Weise; and grandson, Ryan Anderson.
