OBITUARY: Sever O. Haugerud, 1892-1953, Worth Co., Iowa



                          Sever O. Haugerud

Sever O. Haugerud (61) died December 31, 1953 at Naeve Hospital, Albert Lea,
MN.  He was involved in a three-car accident Tuesday evening of last week
and was fatally injured when the two cars smashed into the 1937 car he was
riding in with George Bendickson, 51, of Emmons.  He received head injuries
and lacerations, never regaining consciousness.

He was born January 22, 1892 in Silver Lake Twp. to Ole and Anna Haugerud.
He was born on the place where he lived all his life.

He is survived by his wife, Gena; two sons, Orion and Gerhard, at home
and three grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mrs.
Inger Thompson, Northwood and Mrs. Gust Sorbo, Emmons and a niece, Mae
Solland, Albert Lea; three brothers, Sever, Iver and John.  The funeral
was at Silver Lake, with the Rev. J.M. Haaland officiating.  (George
Bendickson, Emmons, remains unconscious at the Naeve Hospital in critical
condition.)
