OBITUARY: Elizabeth B. Hedges, 1924-2003, Worth County, Iowa [Northwood Anchor online - www.northwoodanchor.com - Posted May 21, 2003] Elizabeth B. Hedges Elizabeth B. Hedges, 79, of Kensett, died on May 17, 2003 at the Lutheran Retirement Home, Northwood, Memorial services were on Tuesday, May 20, 2003 at 1:30 p.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church, Kensett, with Rev. Selmer Hernes officiating. Burial was in the Elk Creek Cemetery, rural Kensett. Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home of Northwood, Iowa is in charge of arrangements. Elizabeth was born on Feb. 29, 1924 in Worth County, Iowa to Bennie and Edvina (Hanson) Helgeson. She was baptized at Elk Creek Lutheran Church and confirmed at Bethany Lutheran Church. She attended the Tenold rural school. Betty married Cyric "Ted" Litts in 1941. She married Richard "Dick" Hedges on March 18, 1961. They lived in Fairborn, Ohio until Richard's death when she moved to Kensett in 1988. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, two brothers; Donald Helgeson and LuVerne Helgeson. She is survived by one son Rick Litts of Fort Lauderdale. FL. one daughter, Loni Bently of Tampa, FL.; four grandchildren, Michell Nabors, Rick Jason Litts, Lisa McAlum and Shauna Philips; one sister Carol (Don) Nappe of Kensett; four brothers, David Dahle of Kensett, Gary Dahle of Sauk Center, MN, John (Barbara) Dahle of St. Louis Park, MN, Jim (Sonya) Dahle of Northwood.
