OBITUARY: Lyle C. Hengesteg, 1913-1984, Worth Co., Iowa Lyle C. Hengesteg Lyle C. Hengesteg (70) rural Northwood, died January 24, 1984. The funeral was held at Silver Lake, with the Rev. Allan Stoa in charge. He was born November 2, 1913 in Worth Co. to Sever and Josephine (Iverson) Hengesteg. He attended Harland Twp. school and Waldorf Academy, Forest City and Mechanics School in Chicago. He was in the U.S. Army in WWII. He was an implement mechanic in Emmons and Northwood. He married Hazel Erickson on November 14, 1948 in Emmons. He was a farmer 35 years, retiring in 1970. He was a member of Silver Lake Church and the American Legion Post 317 in Emmons. He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Ronald (Linda) Lyman, Rochester, MN; a sister, Mrs. Harvey (Janet) Zimmerman, Mason City and four grandchildren.
