OBITUARY: Richard L. Hengesteg, 1945-1967, Worth County, Iowa Richard L. Hengesteg Richard L. Hengesteg (22) rural Northwood, was killed in a two-car head-on collision on November 11, 1967 on Highway 65, three miles south of Northwood. The funeral was held at the St. James Catholic Church, Twin Lakes, with the Rev. Father Donald Winkels officiating and burial in St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery, Lake Mills. He was born May 11, 1945 at Albert Lea, MN to Ernie and Eileen Hengesteg. He attended school at Lake Mills and completed three years in the U.S. Army, with 18 months in Africa as a Helicopter Crew Chief. He was single. He was presently employed at Wilson & Co. in Albert Lea, MN. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Lake Mills. He is survived by his parents; five brothers, Donald, Lake Mills; Robert, Northwood; SP4 Steven, with the U.S. Army in Germany; Bruce and Charles at home; four sisters, Mrs. Lester (Kay) Kirschbaum, Crystal Lake; Mrs. Phillip (Mary Jo) Wogen, Lake Mills; Mrs. Frank (Judy) Adams, Northwood and Lois Jean, at home; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lair, Hayward, MN.
