OBITUARY: B.M. Holstad, 1882-1968, Worth County, Iowa B.M. Holstad B.M. Holstad (86) died December 21, 1968 at the Lake Mills Nursing Home where he had been a resident the past 26 months. He was a member of Salem Church wehre the funeral was held, with the Rev. I.B. Sorenson officiating and burial in the Bristol cemetery. He was born January 17, 1882 in Worth Co. to Martin and Maria (Erickson) Holstad. He was baptized and confirmed at Bristol where in May of 1912 he married Mathilda Rensmon. They farmed in the Bristol area until Dale took over the farm and lived there with his parents until 14 years ago when they moved to Lake Mills. He was a member of Bristol Church until he transferred his membership to Salem. He was preceded in death by his parent; wife; two brothers, Arne and Emil and two sisters, Mrs. Ingvald (Emma) Hamsund and Mrs. Ole (Mary) Johnson. He is survived by two sons, Arnold and Dale, Lake Mills; four daughters, Mrs. Alton (Marlene) Johnson, Hanlontown; Mrs. Luther (Carmen) Hanson, Diamond Bar, CA; Mrs. LaVerne (Violet) Nelson and Mrs. Frederick (Beverly) Dregne, Granada Hills, CA; 20 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Sophie Erickson, Minneapolis, MN; Mrs. Milla Hanson and Mrs. Minda Tenold, Northwood.
