OBITUARY: Margaret (Loland) Brunsvold, 1915-2003, Worth Co., Iowa [ Northwood Anchor online - posted Sep. 10, 2003 ] Margaret Brunsvold Margaret Brunsvold, 88, of Northwood, died on Sept. 4, 2003 at the Lutheran Retirement Home, Northwood. Funeral was Monday at at the First Lutheran Church, Northwood, with Rev. Allan Stoa officiating. Burial was at Somber Cemetery, rural Lake Mills, Iowa. Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, Northwood, was in charge of arrangements. Margaret Brunsvold was born on March 30, 1915 in rural Emmons, Minnesota, to Soren and Christine (Ellingson) Loland. She attended Silver Lake Country School and graduated from Northwood High School in 1933. Margaret married Earl Brunsvold on Oct. 13, 1940. They farmed outside Hanlontown from 1945 to 1972. They retired to Clear Lake, living there from 1972 to 1987. Margaret was employed at the Cerro Gordo County Home as the head cook from 1973 to 1985. She moved to Wilmington, NC in 1987 and returned in 1996 to live in Northwood. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Earl, brother Jake Loland, sister Dora Dahl, granddaughter Mariaha Rose Brunsvold. Margaret is survived by one son, Steven Brunsvold of Polk City, IA; two daughters, Donna Katz of Wilmington, North Carolina, and Marcia Bride of Apple Valley, California; six grandchildren; one brother, Stanley Loland of Toeterville, Iowa; one sister Ruth Winklemann of Northwood, Iowa.
