OBITUARY: Kirk "Kurty" McLaughlin, 1960-2003, Worth Co. Iowa

Kirk "Kurty" McLaughlin, 42, Joice, died Saturday, Sept. 20, at his home
in Joice.

Funeral service were Friday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Lake Mills,
Iowa, with the Rev. Jerry Blake officiating.  Burial took place at
St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery in Lake Mills.

Kirk Douglas McLaughlin was born Oct. 3, 1960, in Independence, Iowa,
the son of James P. and Marlene (Myrton) McLaughlin.

Kurty served in the United States Army as a military policeman from 1979
to 1983.  He worked at his father's locker in Ventura for 15 years and
for Con-Agra Foods in Mason City for five years.

Kurty is survived by his mother, Marlene McLaughlin of Joice, and one
brother, Jeff McLaughlin of Forest City; along with several aunts, uncles
and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, James P. McLaughlin, in April of
this year and his grandparents.
