OBITUARY: Helma Mehus, 1886-1970, Worth Co., Iowa


                              Helma Mehus

Helma Mehus (83) rural Northwood, died February 3, 1970 at the home of
her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. Harold Haugo, Kasson.  She was
an aunt of Elmer Harmon, local businessman, who made his home with the
Mehus family several years during his childhood.  Mrs. Martin Fjeld and
Mrs. Sven Hanson are nieces.

Funeral was held at Silver Lake, with the Rev. Albert Sandness officiating.
She was born March 16, 1886 to Harry & Aase Harmon.  She married Andrew
Mehus on June 3, 1914 at Northwood.

She is survived by her husband; son, Dale, Northwood; three daughters,
Mrs. Elaine Shelley, Burbank, CA; Mrs. Harold (Marjorie) Haugo, Kasson
and Mrs. Maurice (Dianna) Turvold, Austin; a brother, C.B. Harmon,
Northwood; 7 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters and a daughter,
Delphia, in 1927.
