OBITUARY: Albert Henry Mueller, 1911-2003, Worth Co., Iowa [Northwood Anchor online - Posted July 2, 2003] Albert Henry Mueller, 92, of Manly, died Tuesday, June 24, 2003, at the Manly Nursing & Rehab Center. According to his wishes cremation took place. Memorial services were held Friday at the Bethel United Methodist Church in Manly with Rev. Robert Cumings officiating. Inurnment was in the Manly Cemetery. Bride Colonial Chapel, Manly, was in charge of the arrangements. Albert Henry Mueller was born on May 30, 1911, in rural Manly, the son of Gottlieb J. and Bertha (Stoecker) Mueller. He was baptized and reaffirmed the faith of his baptism through confirmation in the St. Paul's Evangelical and Reformed Church in Manly, and later years was a very faithful and active member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Manly. He attended and graduated from Manly High School in 1928, and attended Iowa State University. He married Elsie Bartlett on Sept. 26, 1943, which he considered the greatest honor he would ever receive. She preceded him in death on Sept.8, 1992. After their marriage together they farmed and lived on the family farm until his retirement. After their retirement they moved into Manly. Albert was very active in the Manly community, serving on the North Central School board, and many other community, charity, and church projects. He was also very supportive of the musical activities in the Manly community, and in his earlier years enjoyed flying his Piper Cub airplane. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Ruth Barnett and her husband Rod of Newton, IA, Margaret Weir and her husband Ben of Colo, IA, Susan Trebil and her husband Steve of Manly, IA, and Jane Thompson and her husband Bill of Dumont, IA; 11 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Bartlett, Gladys Bartlett, Julia Bartlett, and Marcie Mueller; as well as other relatives and many friends. Albert was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his wife Elsie, his parents, daughter, Ann Krebs and two brothers, Mark and Harold Mueller.
