OBITUARY: Alice Mary (Phalen) Nerby, 1885-1967

                         Alice Mary Nerby

Mrs. B.L. Nerby (82); Alice Mary Nerby, (died 10-19-1967), the widow of
the late B.L. Nerby, Sr.  Her husband's father was Levi Nerby who
had founded the drug store in Lake Mills in 1873.  B.L. Nerby died June
3, 1949.  Their son, B.L. Nerby, Jr. took over the business that he
still operates.

The funeral was held Monday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic
Church, conducted by the Rev. Father Ivan Boyd, Forest City.  Burial was
in the Bristol Catholic Cemtery.

Alice Nerby was born November 1, 1885 in Bristol Twp., Worth Co., to
Daniel and Mary (Maher) Phalen.  She was a member of the Catholic
Church.

Besides her son, B.L. Nerby, Jr., she is survived by a daughter, Mrs.
Herbert (Mary) Daleiden, Albert Lea and four grandchildren.  She was
preceded in death by her husband, four brothers, Richard, Dan, William
and frank and a daughter, Elizabeth Ann, 18 months and a son in infancy.
