OBITUARY: Charles Albert Olson, 1933-2003, Worth County, Iowa [Northwood Anchor online - www.northwoodanchor.com - Posted Jan. 28, 2003] Charles Olson, 69 Charles Albert Olson, 69, Kenosha, WI, died Jan. 20, 2003 as a result of a brain tumor and blood clot in his lung. The body was cremated and a later memorial services will be held in Iowa. Charles the oldest of four children born to Albert and Margery (Legge) Olson on Sept. 21, 1933 in the hospital at Clarion, IA. He was baptized at the Rowan Methodist Church. Charles attended grade school at Rowan and high school in Dows, graduating with the class of 1951. He was a member of the Methodist Church in Dows. He was a small farmer receiving the first Iowa and American Farmer Degree earned in Dows through FFA. He assisted his father with the Pla More Lanes bowling alley in Dows and Iowa Falls. He then joined the Merchant Marines. He delivered mobile trailer homes throughout the U.S. for several years, and ran for 22nd District State Senator in Wisconsin. He owned and operated the Imperial Carpet Cleaning and Services in Waukegan, IL and Kenosha, WI. Charles never married and was a caregiver for his father in Manly, IA until his father entered the nursing home. He then retired in Kenosha. Survivors include three sisters, Shirley Meyer and husband, Dale, of Kensett, Darlene Polzin of Iowa Falls, and Mardine Meyer and husband, Dean, of Kensett; special friend, Gary Turner, of Kenosha, and many nieces and nephews.
