OBITUARY: Anna Rademaker Schultz, 1901-2003, Worth county, Iowa [ Adapted from Northwood Anchor online - posted Dec. 3, 2003 ] Anna Schultz Anna Schultz, 102, of Northwood, Iowa, died Saturday Nov. 29, 2003 at the Lutheran Retirement Home, Northwood. Funeral services were Tuesday at the First Lutheran Church in Northwood, with Rev. Paul Holmer officiating. Interment was in the Grafton Cemetery, Grafton. Anna was born Feb. 5, 1901 to John and Anna Rademaker at their farm home near Iowa Falls, Iowa. She was baptized in infancy at the rural Grant Center Lutheran Church near Hampton, Iowa. At the age of 12 she moved with her family to a farm 3 1/2 miles northwest of Grafton. She was confirmed in the Christian faith at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Grafton, Iowa. She married George Schultz of Grafton in 1921. They lived on various farms in the Grafton area. In 1945, they moved to Northwood, where they became members of the Zion Lutheran Church. Anna served five years as treasurer of the Zion Lutheran Ladies Aid Society and taught Sunday school for 15 years. When the Zion Lutheran Church merged with the First Lutheran Church, she became an active member of the JoAnna Circle. She worked for 10 years as head cook at the Lutheran Retirement Home. Survivors include: her son, Marvin Schultz and his wife Marjorie, Dubuque, Iowa; her devoted son-in-law, Melvin Krumm, Northwood; four grandchildren: Karen Schultz and her husband Robert Anderson, Bettendorf, Iowa, Kathy Huberty and her husband Craig, Hazel Green, Wisconsin; Stephen Krumm and his wife Deborah, Owatonna, Minnesota, Kevin Krumm and his wife Susan, Baldwin, Kansas; two step-grandsons: Steven Schulz and his wife Rose and Brian Schulz and his wife Theresa; seven great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandsons. She was preceded in death by her husband George 1982; a son, Elray in 1924; daughters, Elaine 1973, Ruth Krumm 1998; her parents; brothers, Mike and John Rademaker and sisters Antke Richtsmeier, Helen Brown, Gertie Walk, Jennie Walk, Annie Gerzma and Katie Walk. Anna was very close to her family and the Lord. She was always a willing volunteer. Anna spent many joyful hours making quilts for Lutheran World Relief.
