OBITUARY: Mildred M. Russell, 1908-2003, Worth Co., Iowa [ Northwood Anchor online - Aug. 6, 2003 ] Mildred M. Russell Mildred M. Russell, 94, Sheridan, WY, died Friday, July 4, 2003, in Sheridan Manor. Memorial services were held at First United Methodist Church in Sheridan with the Rev. Don Derryberry officiating. Inurnment of cremains were in Sunset Rest Cemetery, Northwood, on July 30. She was born Oct. 15, 1908, in Northwood, IA, to Louis and Mina "Minnie" (Hanson) Madson. She grew up and attended schools in Northwood. She received her teaching degree from State Teacher’s College, Cedar Falls. She married Dr. Bryan F. Russell on June 30, 1934 in Northwood. She taught school in Iowa and in Cody, WY before coming to Sheridan. Dr. B.F. Russell died in 1995. Mildred was very active in Sheridan being a member of First United Methodist Church, PEO Sisterhood, American Legion Auxiliary, Sheridan Woman’s Club, Daughters of the Nile, United Methodist Women, Fine Arts Club, Sheridan Book Review Club and a life member of the Friends of the Library. Her husband, brother Alton Madson and sister Myrtle M. Rider and her parents preceded her in death. Survivors include a son Bryan W. Russell and wife Edith of Cheyenne, WY, daughter Mildred R. Marsh and husband Robert of Billings, MT, grandchildren Scott and Wendy Marsh of Bothell, WA and Kirsti Marsh of Newcastle, WA and two great-grandchildren. Copyright 2003, K. Kittleson
