Carpentry, plumbing and electrical work-he did it. In recent years, he had tackled projects at his daughters' houses in Connecticut and Baltimore as well. In his spare time, he read widely in history, biography, and the genre of Western fiction, especially the novels of Louis L'Amour (of which he had a complete collection). He and Joan traveled extensively throughout the United States and Canada. They also made trips to Japan, Brazil, Australia, and Europe. In the past year, he had founded a men's bridge club and was looking forward to many pleasant gatherings. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Joan Lou Schaub; his daughter Diana Schaub, his daughter and son-in-law Kathleen and Stephen Rudolph, his mother Margaret Schaub, his sister Ruth (Robb) and his brothers Kenneth and James.
