OBITUARY: Clarence O. Torkelson, 1935-2003, Worth Co., Iowa [Northwood Anchor online - June 11, 2003] Clarence O. Torkelson Funeral services for Clarence O. Torkelson, 69, Albert Lea, MN, were held Friday at the Assemblies of God Church. The Rev. Lee Freshour officiated, Interment was in Ellington Township Cemetery, Forest City. Clarence died Tuesday, June 3, 2003 at his home. Clarence O. Torkelson was born April 12, 1935, to Clarence M. and Othelia C. Torkelson in Thompson, IA. He lived most of his life near Fertile, where he attended country schools and Fertile Community School. On Feb. 24, 1962, Clarence married Janice E. Brozik in Garner. He farmed in the Fertile area for many years before moving to Albert Lea seven years ago. He loved music, especially playing the guitar, reading and his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Janice of Albert Lea, mother, Othelia of Forest City, children, Kevin and wife Lori Torkelson and their children, Bailey, Mitch and Cade of Ottumwa, IA., Wendy Torkelson of Minneapolis, Kristen and husband Kevin Oldenkamp and their children, Kelsey and Kassidy of Clarks Grove and Renee and husband Rod Batzlaff and their children, Cassie and Caitlin of Brooklyn Center; brothers and sisters, Margie Hinderaker, Bernice Voelker, Carroll, Ronald, Leslie, Roger and Wayne Torkelson and Marsha Brunsvold; sisters-in-law, Lucille Torkelson and Paulette Torkelson; brother-in-law, Mark Brunsvold and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
