                            Ruth Lenora Walk

The funeral service for Ruth Lenora Walk, 93, was held Friday at the First
Lutheran Chapel, Albert Lea. Pastor John Holt officiated with interment
in the Hillcrest Cemetery. Ruth died June 4, 2003 at the Albert Lea Medical
Center.

Ruth was born Jan. 2, 1910 in Northwood, IA, the daughter of John D. and
Thea (Holty) Johnson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith
at Northwood. She attended schools in Northwood. Ruth married Edward W.
Walk April 5, 1930 at Northwood. To them were born nine children, Joy,
Gary, Betty, Ronald, Dean, David, Bruce, Judy and Larry. Survivors
include her children, Joy (Eslie) Bergstrom, Albert Lea, Mn, Gary (Gloria)
Walk, Albert Lea, MN, Betty (Bob) Guenther, Alden, MN, Dean (Jane) Walk,
Bemidji, MN, Judy (Don) Schultz, Faribault, MN; daughter-in-law, Sheila
Walk, Albert Lea, MN and sister-in-law, Arlene Johnson, Albert Lea, MN;
step-children, Peggy and Bob; 20 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren;
five great-great-grandchildren; special nieces and nephews, Virginia
McHenry, Verna Mae Pixley, Arlynn McHenry, Ardyce Gardner, Shirley Bartelt,
Arma Buscher, Margaret Flatness, Thea Flatness, Leland Johnson, William
Johnson, Jerald Johnson, Paul Johnson, Johnny Johnson, Dennis Johnson,
Gretchen Johnson, Verne Johnson, Charles Walk, Lois Jensen.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward in 1963; four
sons, Ronald, David, Bruce and Larry Walk; grandson, Christopher Walk
and Timothy Guenther and granddaughter, Daphne Walk; brothers, George
Johnson, Elmer Johnson; sisters, Thelma Anderson and Bertha McHenry.
