OBITUARY: Alice K. Watts, 1922-2003, Worth Couty, Iowa [Northwood Anchor online - posted 7-23-2003] Alice K. Watts Alice K Watts, 80, of Northwood, died on Tuesday, July 15, 2003 at Mercy Health Care Center, Mason City, IA. Memorial service was Saturday at First Lutheran Church, Northwood, with Rev. Paul Holmer and Pastor Jon Fredrickson officiating. Burial was at the Sunset Rest Cemetery, Northwood. Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, Northwood, was in charge of arrangements. Alice was born on Nov. 23, 1922 in Northwood, IA to John O. and Martha (Luth) Fredrickson. She was baptized and confirmed at the Northwood Lutheran Church, Northwood. She attended Northwood High School. Alice married Wendell Watts on Sept. 27, 1942 in Northwood and celebrated their 60th anniversary in September of 2002. Wendell preceded her in death on March 7, 2003. Alice enjoyed people and baking. She supplied the town with many good things to eat, particularly noted for her pies and donuts. She was a dispatcher for the transit van and worked as a waitress for many years. Alice and Wendell enjoyed fishing and had many great adventures doing just that. Her greatest passion was her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Alice was preceded in death by her parents, husband Wendell and two brothers, Donald and Arnold. She is survived by two sons, Jim Watts and his wife Chen of Sterling, Alaska, Tom Watts and his wife Joan of Northwood; two daughters, Kandie and her husband Ron Shupe of Northwood and Wendie and her husband Roger Urbatch of Woodbridge, Virginia; a niece Jann Ramus and her husband John of St. Paul, Minnesota; grandchildren, Sue Lynn Height, Dan Watts, Kim Helgeson, Chad Watts, Bryan Shupe, Brad Shupe, Kelly Atkinson, Kerry Urbatch, Anna Eimes and Amy Urbatch; 13 great grandchildren; sisters Mildred Hendrickson, Helen Mowers and Dolores Mandt; many nieces and nephews.
