OBITUARY: Victor Donald Holt, 1922-2004, Worth Co., Iowa [Adapted from Northwood Anchor online, posted March 10, 2004] Victor Donald Holt Victor Donald Holt, 81, of Cottage Grove, Oregon, died Jan. 8, 2004, from age-related causes. Holt was born Jan. 29, 1922, in Lake Mills, Iowa, to John and Jeanette Holt. He graduated from Northwood High School in 1940. He married Mavis Zingg in Leland, Iowa, Jan. 22, 1950 and served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. Holt was a planer foreman and retired from Weyerhaeuser in 1984. He was a member of the Elks and Moose clubs in Cottage Grove as well as a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Survivors include his wife; daughter, Jean Cordova of Cottage Grove; sons, Jim Holt of Eugene, Oregon, and Laird Holt of Lebanon, Oregon; brother, Sidney Holt of Iowa and four grandchildren.
