OBITUARY: James Duane Lee, 1927-2004, Worth County, Iowa [From Northwood Anchor online, posted June 9, 2004 (edited)] James Duane Lee James Duane Lee, 76, of Northwood, Iowa, died on June 6, 2004 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City, Iowa. Funeral service will be on Thursday, June 10, 2004 at the First Lutheran Church, Northwood, Iowa. Rev. Wayne Hagen will officiate. Burial will be in the Sunset Rest Cemetery, Northwood. James was born on December 10, 1927 in Colington, Alberta, Canada, to Harry and Emma (Storey) Lee and later adopted by Peter Ostmo. He was baptized on January 19, 1928 at the United Church of Canada, Colington by J.E. Ball. James entered the U.S. Navy serving in the Aleutian Islands before being honorably discharged. He married Madeline V. Whiting on June 6, 1948 at Bristol Church, rural Joice, Iowa. James loved to work, working for over 20 years for the city of Northwood, driving truck for many years and farming for several years. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Odis Lee and grandson Brandon Thompson. James is survived by his wife Madeline, son Michael and wife Judy Lee, daughters, Kathleen and husband Ronald Gentz, Peggy Hodson and special friend Rick Holtz, all of Northwood; Lorraine (Tom) McCloskey of Sioux Center, Iowa; nine grandchildren, Darrin Gentz, Jessica Roberts, Jared Gentz, Heather Hamlin, Tanya Waldemar, Sara Lee, Brian McCloskey, Dustin Hodson and Adam McCloskey and 11 great grandchildren.
