OBITUARY: Deborah Joan (Wemmer) Diamond, 1957-2004, Worth Co., Iowa Deborah Joan Diamond Funeral services for Deborah Joan Diamond, age 47, was Saturday at the Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, Northwood, Iowa, with Rev. Allan J. Stoa officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date. She died at her home on Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2004. Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, Northwood, was in charge of arrangements. Debby was born Jan. 21, 1957, in Sparta, Wisconsin, the daughter of James and Mooneen Wemmer. Debby attended grade school in Sparta, and after her father's death in 1969 she moved to Minneapolis and graduated from Bloomington Kennedy High School in 1975. She attended Normandale College and graduated with an associates' degree in accounting in 1977. She went to work for the U.S. Immigration Department at Fort Snelling, in Minneapolis, where she was a department supervisor. There she received many awards for outstanding service, and wonderful communication skills, something she was known for. In 1979 she met Tony Diamond and on Oct. 3, 1981 they were married in Ojibwa, Wisconsin, at the cabin of Deborah's mother and step-father Bernard Waite. Deborah and Tony then made their home in Minneapolis. There they had two children, Stephanie and Michael. In 1992 they moved to Northwood. Debby was loving mother and wife. She loved to help people and for several years she was a volunteer at Northwood-Kensett Schools. She later utilized her skills as an entrepreneur and started a lawn-mowing business, which catered to mainly seniors. During this time, she developed a great empathy for elderly, and she thoroughly enjoyed her job at the Lutheran Retirement Home. She then worked as the office manager for Pam Little, LISW, and she deeply enjoyed the contact she had with clients. She was preceded in death by her father, James; and is survived by her two children, Stephanie and Michael; her husband, Tony; her mother, Mooneen and her step-father Bernie; two sisters, Judy and Kathy; two nieces, Wendy and Heather; and three nephews, Aaron, Tom and Tyler.
