May 4, 1870, Thomas O. Ball, aged 38 years. The writer has known the deceased intimately and well since the year 1861. He was a man of more then ordinary ability and acquirements, a practical printer by proffesion, and has been connected with the proprietorship of several journals on the Pacific coast. He is not known to have left a single relative of his father's family. He was "the last leaf upon the tree" of his family, and after many and weary struggles with fickle fortune, with varied success, has come to and untimely end. Poor fellow! Many blasted hopes and withered inspirations are buried in that grave, where at last the hands of strangers have laid his mortal remains.Requiescat in pace.
