Helvey Succumbs in Boise ----------------------------------------------------------- Mrs. Martha B. Helvey, 74, died at the family home at 1207 Lincoln street Sunday morning. Mrs. Helvey was born at Fort Scott, Kan., February 5, 1865 and had been a resident of Boise for 29 years. She was a member of the Second Presbyterian church of Boise. Surviving are two daughters: Mrs. Ethel G. Alloway and Mrs. Grace Baird of Boise; three sons, Charles W. Helvey; J. L. Helvey and F. R. Hale, all of Boise; also four grandchildren and two great grandchildren; two brothers, Tom E. McFaddan and Llewlyn McFaddan of Boise; one sister, Mrs. Melissa Schwatken of Elk City, Kan. The body is at the McBratney funeral home and funeral arrangements will be announced later. ============================== Submitter's note: The photo is of Martha Belle McFaddan. She married first William Suell Hale in Ft. Scott, Bourbon, KS on 18 Sep 1883. They divorced around 1894 in Steamboat Springs, CO. She then married Charles Henry Helvey on 6 July 1896 in Steamboat Springs, Routt, CO. She is buried in Morris Hill Cemetery, Boise, Ada, ID. Parents: William Wallace McFaddan, b. In Steamboat Springs, CO she opened a restaurant and ran her own business after her separation from her husband William S. Hale.
