In the Civil War he was a private in Company G, 153rd Ohio Volunteer Infantry. He was a pioneer of Idaho and lived near Sweet many years before the founding of Emmett. He is survived by a brother, Samuel Ireton of Boise; O. Ireton, Salem, Oregon; a sister Mrs. James Halman, Fairmont, Ohio; a sister, Mrs. Mollie Holman in Iowa. The funeral was held in Boise on Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Rev. W. Van Deusen officiated and members of the G.A.R., Ladies of the G.A.R. and W.R.C. attended.
