A memorial will be held Saturday May 13, from 2p.m. until 4p.m. at Ann Morrison Park Shelter, Boise, enter at the South 9th Street on Royal Boulevard, turn right into the first parking past park entrance. Questions or RSVP to Sandon Mayhew at 377-7949. Peggy was born Dec 8, 1937, at McCall, Idaho, to Walter and Lenora Manis. Her father died when she was a young girl, and her mother married again to Leo Butts, who raised her as his own. Peggy graduated from McCall-Donnelly High School and remained in McCall until her marriage to max mayhew in 1956. Peggy was a person of many talents, not the least of which was a homemaker. She raised her family with love, and the best of gifts her time. She also enjoyed a lifelong love of music, which she passed along to her children. Peggy will be remembered for her generous heart, and her desire to help those less fortunate. After raising her three children to there teens, she began seeking ways to serve handicapped children. She spent many years as a teacher's aide in special education and with the Idaho Special Olympics as an employee and also as a volunteer. One of her proudest achievements was her involvement with Special Olympics. Peggy is survived by her son Sandon Mayhew of Boise, her son Mark Mayhew, and daughter Darci Mayhew, both of Loveland Colo; seven grandchildren; and two cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Walter Manis, her mother Lenora Butts, and her brother Lester Applegate. .
