Stone Buried in Cemetery he helped to Plat 31 years ago. Charles Christopher Stone, who died early Tuesday morning of peritonitis, at St. Alphonsos' hospital, was laid to rest Wednesday afternoon in the Dry Creek cemetery beside his wife and two little daughters. His wife's parents, Colonel H. J. G. and Mrs. Arabella Maxon, are lying in an adjoining lot and a little grand-daughter also lies near him. Thirty- one years ago Mr. Stone helped his father-in-law and other pioneer neighbors survey and plat the cemetery in which he was laid to rest yesterday. Charles C. Stone was born 67 years ago in Kentucky, coming with his parents, Dr. and Mrs. Rhoda Stone, to California, when a very small boy. In 1862 he came to Idaho with his elder brother who was killed by Indians near Falk's store. Charles escaped and joined the miners who were making the first gold rush to the Boise Basin. He became a miner, with the good and bad luck which accompanies those that delve for old earth's treasures. He was of a fearless nature and joined in many a raid against the hostile Indians. He was a pioneer of the old west and no man or beast ever appealed to him in vain. Forty-five years ago Mr. Stone and Miss Susan Ann Maxon were united in marriage. Nine children were born to them, seven of whom are living, five daughters and two sons. To these children Mr. Stone was a tender comrade and his sympathy and understanding was worth more to them than any amount of worldly possessions. His going from among them will leave a void until the family circle is complete again beyond the Great Divide The past ten years Mr. Stone spent in Atlanta, where he had valuable placer property. The funeral services were held at Schreiber's chapel, Rev. R.B. Wright officiating. Additional Comments: Children of Charles Christopher STONE and Susan E.
